The leisure club MOGADISHNI is pleased to announce the first solo
exhibition with the works of Lise Blomberg Andersen in the gallery.
The universe of Lise Blomberg Andersen's paintings is landscapes
from the nordic hemisphere and the high mountains; the fresh, cool
air and the scent of coniferous tree is revealed when one enters
the space of the pictures. But this is not just a picnic. The sun
is shining, the sky is blue, but underneath the seemingly idyllic
surface, something lie in wait. But what? What does one meet out
in the woods?
The paintings are populated by a mysterial hybrid race, animal bodies
with human heads. Creatures that turn the welknown into the land
of the unknown. We enter a world of mythology which brings to mind
nice summer holidays from many years ago, and at the same time the
fantasy is awaken and lets the sinister atmosphere spread. The condensed
atmosphere makes the pictures quiver in a tension between idyll
and anxiety, guilt and innocense, fantasy and reality. Finland -
a destination that Lise Blomberg Andersen still has to look forward
to -- becomes synonymous with the place where everything can happen;
a mythical place.
The exhibition is in continuation of Lise Blomberg Andersen's latest
exhibitions: "True-tree Stories", 2001, and "Sweet Schwammerl",
2002.
We welcome you in the gallery.
