"ASH" is presenting his new installation called "Luxurious" at Senko,
Sergei Sviatchenko's gallery located in Viborg Denmark. The central
theme of the piece is the urban vision for personal success and
satisfaction in modern society.
The work will be based on graffiti esthetical elements mixed with
collages and limited edition T-shirt prints will also be presented.
Senko studio - communication space, which is open for different
projects: video, photo, installations, ready-made and multiples.
For the exhibition in Senko artist shall come with a proposal for
the window display and t-shirt. Senko prints invitation card, t-shirt
and postcard. Exhibition runs for about one month. Senko is located
in the center of the oldest Danish town - Viborg. The concept of
organizing an exhibition in Senko is to keep it as simple as possible
in visual and material sense.
ASH was born in the year 1968 and lived in Paris most of is youth.
Influenced by the subway graffiti from New York, he started writing
on the walls of Paris in his teenage years and sprayed his first
painting on the boarding of the Beaubourg museum in 1983. Considered
as a pioneer in the European graffiti and by the fact of being famous
in that scene, he got contacted by people from galleries around
1988. This confronted him to another world where the language, attitude
and experiences were very different. It forced him to have a constructive
self-critic, which has brought more maturity to his work from simple
street graffiti. He has since been exhibiting regularly in various
galleries and spaces worldwide. ASH lives and works in Copenhagen.
