Opening Saturday,
April 26 at 13:00
Sturlasgade 12H
2300 København S.
For the finissage (last day) of the exhibition Playschool, Galleri
Christina Wilson is pleased to announce the performance Aesthetic
Movement by Karl Holmqvist. With this, the artist hopes
to add a human, more humorous side to his somewhat dry installation
which is part of the exhibition. Consequently, there will be cake
and tea served and this afternoon should be seen as an opportunity
to spend time together. Aesthetic Movement is the
name of Karl Holmqvists (self-published) publication and
the fourth and final issue deals with how language shapes reality
and the act of writing. There will be an opportunity to look at
former UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjolds secret
diary (post-humously published as Markings), 19th
Century Social thinker William Morris travel journals from
Iceland as well as how current media coverage steers the Middle
Eastern conflict. Karl Holmqvist did a performance Oh Superman
as part of the exhibition Fundamentalisms of the New Order
at Charlottenborg, Copenhagen. He has performed at Chiang Mai
Art Museum in Thailand, at KunstWerke in Berlin and at the Tirana
Biennale. Holmqvist will also present a work at this years
Venice Biennale.
