The leisure club MOGADISHNI is pleased to present The Farm by ASH.
ASH was born in 1968 in Portugal and lived in Paris most of his
youth.
Influenced by the subway graffiti from New York, he started writing
on the
walls of Paris as well as on trains coming in and out of Paris.
In 1983 he
made his first painting with spray on the boarding of the Beaubourg
Museum.
Considered a pioneer in the European graffiti, he was contacted
by
galleries. This confronted him with another world where language,
attitude
and experiences were very different. To work with galleries forced
him to
verbalise his works, which might have brought more maturity into
his work.
Since 1988 ASH has been exhibiting regularly in various galleries
and spaces
worldwide.
The works in The Farm will be based on street-graffiti esthetical
elements
but distinguishes itself from street-graffiti in many ways. The
exhibition
in the gallery will consist of wall pieces + works on canvas.
