Imagine there's a site somewhere
by artist Tor-Magnus Lundeby
I love inventing sites. They mainly appear in paintings and drawings
as pure imaginative sketches and views, sometimes more detailed
like an architect's plan drawing or some construction of an engineer
on acid (prof. Balthazar). Other times they are more ambient like
a view from above or of the sky. Music can be such a trigger for
these imaginations, and I have so far, in titles, related a lot
of my works to the widely including electronic music genre. Later
on I have used more nature linking titles though they are often
spiced with more text samples from the electronic music menu. The
closest I've been to making a real site, is the site specific show
at Moderna Museet Projekt (MMP) in Stockholm early 2000. "Loony
in the Sky with DJs - extended remix installation" is the title
of a fictive visual record shop dedicated the DJ-culture. The installation
was a remix compilation of an earlier painting called "Loony in
the Sky with DJs". The different parts / tracks varied more or less
from the original painting, which also was included in the space.
A catalog from the exhibition was released in February 2001 and
includes a text written by Jesper Jørgensen from 1%, Copenhagen.
There is also a 4-pages cover of the exhibition in NU- The Nordic
Art Review - nr2, 2000.

L'avenueTM is a fantasy site, an avenue for sculptures. This name
is not a pseudonym for me as an artist, even though it is a wordplay
on Lundeby, T-M. But it is used in naming my sculptures as the beginning
of the title and with a serial number at the end like f.ex. HO.TEL
02.
Finally I am proud to present a release of one of my paintings on
Bungalow Records' web-site www.bungalow.de
. "Bungalow Street 1-15: House Editon: Bung 088.1", can be
found at the web-site's front page under the square called "specials".
The painting is a very abstracted view from a small village street
of sixteen bungalows, where - at the left side of the street - one
house is almost like the next one. The painting is divided into
eight monochromes and the colors are matching the record label's
logo. Bung 088 is the catalog number like all the music releases
on the Berlin based label. My love for the bungalows as dream sites
origined some months before I discovered the record labels releases.
For the exhibition "Spacehousebungalows"at T19-Gallery in Vienna,
I made a smaller edition called "Bungalow Street 1-15: Garage Edition:
Bung 088.2".
