Channel - Nakhee Sung på Mogadishni
"Nakhee Sung is drawn to little brush marks and a spontaneous flow of simple humane expressions. These expressions are intuitive and has in the beginning no symbols or meanings, just non-sensical thought process. But gradually they branch out respectively to harmonize as one space. Sung likes this construction and layering process and wants her works to maintain fresh and juicy.
"I think about the negative and the positive, the foreground and the background of abstract compositions. And about how I'd like to make a work composed of chains and joints of little ubiquitous details." Nakhee Sung, 2004
"Channel" will be a mixture of painting on canvases and a big wallpainting project. The wall painting will be made using permanent marker, adhesive vinyl sheets, color sprays and household paints. Her wallpaintings have been displayed in Artsonje Museum, Korea and Arario Collection, Korea among other places. Nakhee Sung is educated from The Royal College of Art, London.
